Compatibility and support

FreeBASIC-NG is based on the FreeBASIC 1.20.0 development line at upstream commit 5714d10adb21ba0d5d65d7d497ac32f509bb95ff. It is independently maintained and is neither an official FreeBASIC release nor affiliated with upstream maintainers.

The project targets source compatibility with that base. It makes no ABI compatibility claim for arbitrary FreeBASIC distributions, and package managers should treat it as an alternative compiler distribution.

Linux x86_64/AArch64, macOS Intel/Apple silicon, and Windows x86_64/ARM64 are Tier 1 native host archives. Classic AmigaOS/m68k is a developer-preview target SDK; it is not a native host archive. AROS and MorphOS target qualification is deferred until their own later evidence milestones.
